Welcome to St Barnabas Church.
St Barnabas has been part of the Istead Rise community since the 1960s. Originally worship took place in what is now the large hall. Extensions were made to the side to provide a smaller hall, meeting room, kitchen, vestry and toilets. The modern worship centre was consecrated in 2004.
St Barnabas is a forward looking church, less formal than some, encouraging development of Christian faith using musicians, more modern songs and involving many of the congregation during services. We have an active children’s church and a youth group currently meeting on zoom. There are also a number of home groups for those wishing to develop their faith.
The halls are available for hire and they are very active. Girl Guides, Brownie and Rainbow groups are now able to meet again.
All other user groups have had to be suspended due to Covid 19 but we are actively working to have many re-start as soon as it is safe to do so.
Angela Jarrett, Community Warden holds surgeries in the small hall.
At present we are only able to meet in person for the 10am Sunday service.

The Vicar, Andrew Vaughan, left in February and we are in the process of recruiting a new Priest in charge. We will be sharing the Minister with St Nicholas at Southfleet which may mean some changes for both of us but it is an exciting new phase in the life of the parish.
