Istead Rise ‘Unsung Heroes’
Cllr Dibben and the Community Association are launching a recognition scheme for acts of kindness from the many ‘Unsung Heroes’ within our Community.
Dakota Dibben has launched a new appreciation drive, to recognise our residents that have volunteered across Istead Rise and the local wider community for their heroic work during the pandemic.
To honour those in the village that have, and continue to help vulnerable people throughout this crisis.
He says “ I am so very proud of our Community response towards the pandemic, and the selfless desire of so many to help people in need.
This is a way for us to recognise and show our appreciation and gratitude to those in our community who have gone above and beyond to help others.
I thought that it would be a lovely idea, especially for those volunteers who have helped with the support scheme and made such a fantastic contribution.”
“I am so humbled and proud of them all”
“Our Unsung Heroes will all receive a commemorative token made with love by our brilliantly talented younger residents, and something a little extra for those who have really gone the extra mile.
I am really excited to be launching this idea to celebrate people who deserve our recognition.”
In response to the Coronavirus outbreak, the community association and Cllr Dibben created the ‘Istead Rise Community Support Scheme’, on the 17th March, to assist those who need help during the lockdown. We had over 80 volunteers sign up and we have helped hundreds of residents who are elderly and vulnerable during this crisis and continue to do so.
We will be announcing certain nominees soon.
