Colin Cross on the latest from the IRCA and the Community Centre

Dear Residents and Association Members

I hope all are keeping well in these difficult times. I am sure that you are all aware of the guidelines and hopefully we will all come through this in good shape for a better future.

The community centre is of course closed at presented and the staff are furloughed. In the event of any relaxation of the current rules we will publish the news on this site, ircatoday.com

I would like to make a special note of praise to our Gravesham Councillor Dakota Dibben who has worked tirelessly for those in the community that need it most. Our other councillor Alan Ridgers is self isolating and we wish him well.

Our AGM has had to be cancelled in the current situation and of course will reconvene when it is safe to do so. Our future plans may be dependant upon our financial situation after the lock in.

I would like to thank all of our staff at the Centre for their cooperation and hope that they will still be with us when we return.

Thanks also to Mark Fraser for his continuing efforts in developing this website, which will be a great communication tool for residents in Istead Rise and our wider local community.

I would urge any resident who has any comments to make, to get in touch so that we can display them here.

The IRIS will be published again as soon as we are back to normality.

I would say to all of our hirers that we look forward to seeing you back soon

Please keep safe – it will end – and we can move forward.

Colin Cross
