For over 20 years, Istead Rise Co-op has continued the tradition of food shops central to our community. As the only supermarket, we realise we have an important role to play in providing families their essentials, especially the more elderly and vulnerable residents.
There are many colleagues within the store who also live in Istead Rise, and those who don’t have settled in comfortably as part of our community. We are proud to not only just be another corporation supermarket, but integrated members and friends of the village, providing your groceries, but also a friendly face and (if we’re not too busy) a little chat!
2p for every £1 you spend as a co-op member goes into your co-op membership account, and co-op give the same amount to local charities and community organisations that are specifically chosen by our store with a say from our village!
We also have our co-op foodbank, where people can donate food and essentials that go to vulnerable residents with help from our community warden, Angela. Co-op are also in partnership with the charity Mind, and staff have organised many fundraisers such as raffles and sponsored walks to raise money for such an important charity.
Overall Istead Rise co-op is more than just a store. It is the hub of the village; a place for friends to say hello, for helping local causes, and grabbing a pint of milk for the morning cornflakes!
